La revista Billboard celebrará su aniversario número 120, el 1 de noviembre y para esto está publicando los mejores 20 de Billboard Hot 100 éxitos de cada década desde los años 1960 (para un total de 120 canciones).
Los años 60 fue la primera década del rock and roll, y los veinte primeros sencillos de este momento en especial refleja una batalla entre las formas de hacer música antigua y nueva.
Elvis Presley y Ray Charles, fueron aquellos que ayudaron a plantar las bases del rock; por supuesto, cada uno aparecen en la lista; lo mismo ocurre con el doo-wop y Louis Armstrong, quien había estado grabando desde la década de 1920 y tenía uno de los más grandes hits de los años 60.
¿Cuál es el mayor éxito de la década? Chubby Checker con la canción "The Twist”. Sin embargo, los sonidos seguían cambiando en ese momento y por eso llegaron Los Beatles con su canción "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," y "Hey Jude".
